Terms of Membership

These are the rules for using AFTER DARK. They're written to be read, not skimmed past, so please give them a few minutes. By creating an account or paying for a membership, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

AFTER DARK is run by Chantel Kwarciak in Ontario, Canada. In these terms, "we" and "us" means AFTER DARK. You can reach us any time at hello@afterdarkclubhouse.com.

2. Adults only: 19 and older

AFTER DARK is only for adults 19 and older. A lot of what we share involves alcohol, and the community is for grown-ups. When you sign up you must give your real date of birth. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 19, we'll close it right away and refund any payment.

3. Your account

• One account per person, in your own name and with your own email.
• Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• Pick a display name that isn't sexual, hateful or pretending to be someone else.
• Profile photos should be of you. We review every photo before other members can see it, and we can turn one down for any reason.

4. The Founding 50 membership

The Founding 50 is a one-time payment of $9.99 CAD (plus any tax that applies) for the first 50 members. It's available until October 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm Eastern, or until all 50 spots are claimed, whichever comes first. It unlocks the member areas of AFTER DARK, including Book Club, Chat and private notes, plus members-only drinks and snacks as they're added, for as long as AFTER DARK runs. "Lifetime" means the life of AFTER DARK, not yours. It isn't a subscription and you'll never be charged again for it.

We'll keep adding to the club, and we may change or retire features over time. If we ever close AFTER DARK for good, we'll give members at least 30 days' notice. Future memberships may cost something different, and that won't change what Founding 50 members already have.

5. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. Prices are in Canadian dollars.

6. Refunds

If AFTER DARK isn't for you, email us within 7 days of paying and we'll refund you in full. No questions, no hard feelings. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and your account goes back to a free account. After 7 days, payments aren't refundable, except where the law says otherwise. Nothing here takes away any rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or other laws that apply to you.

7. House rules

Chat, Book Club and private notes are a small, private room. To keep a seat at the table, you agree to:

• Be kind. No harassment, hate, threats, bullying or pile-ons. Disagree kindly.
• Keep it adult and keep it clean. Nothing sexual: no sexual messages, images, jokes or requests, anywhere on AFTER DARK.
• Keep what's said after dark inside the club. No screenshots or sharing outside it.
• Not post anyone else's full name, address, private information or photo.
• Not share links, phone numbers or social media handles in private notes.
• Not sell, spam or promote your own business.
• Not post anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to share.

8. Kids

Lots of us are parents, so kids will come up, and that's fine. Talk about the chaos, just keep them unidentifiable: don't share their names, schools, teams, towns or photos.

Anything sexual involving a child is never allowed, in any form, including as a joke. If we see it, we close the account permanently, keep the evidence, and report it to Cybertip.ca and the police, as Canadian law requires.

9. How we keep the club safe

Posts, comments, private notes and display names are checked automatically before they appear, and anything that breaks the house rules isn't posted. We keep a record of blocked posts so we can review them. Repeated attempts, or anything involving a child, pauses the account straight away. You can report any post or private note with the "report" button, and we read every report. You can also block anyone from sending you private notes.

We can remove anything, pause a member's posting, or close an account when we believe it's needed to keep the club safe. If we close your account for breaking these rules, you won't get a refund. We can't promise other members will keep things private, so don't share anything you wouldn't want repeated.

10. What you post

You own what you write. By posting, you let us store it and show it to other members inside AFTER DARK, for as long as it's up. You can delete your own posts, comments and private notes at any time. You're responsible for what you post.

11. Our stuff

The recipes, writing, drawings, stamps and design of AFTER DARK belong to us. You're welcome to use the recipes at home. Please don't copy, sell or republish the rest without asking.

12. Drinks, food and common sense

Please drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. Check every recipe for allergies and dietary needs, and follow basic food safety. Our recipes, ideas and recommendations are for fun. They aren't medical, nutritional or legal advice. Where we mention a streaming service, it's where we found the show at the time, and that can change.

13. If something goes wrong

We work hard to keep AFTER DARK running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, and the most we'll ever owe you is what you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited.

14. Leaving

You can delete your account any time from My Account, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete your card, posts, comments, notes and stamps, as described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the club grows. If we make an important change, we'll tell members before it takes effect. If you keep using AFTER DARK after that, you're agreeing to the new version.

16. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
